Worthless customer service and rotten food

First week I received one portion for one meal. The radish was completely rotten, black inside. I emailed and sent messages as well as attempted to use their chat option. No response. No help from chat. Second meal: black mush for lettuce. Again, I emailed and messaged repeatedly as well as so many chat requests with zero response. There were no recipes. NONE. This company is completely worthless and as far as customer service goes, there is none. NONE. Do not use martha and marley spoon.

Yuck and Gross

I was a member for 8 months. Every week something was either missing, rotten, cold packs were broken all over everything. In the winter all of the fresh vegetables were frozen and unusable and in the summer the cold packs are the same temp as the outdoors,, my last order my burger and steaks were cooked in their packages, my frsh veggies were burned. I work hard for my money and couldn't see paying money every week for something I usually ended up throwing away.

Marley Spoon is great until it isn't

Marley Spoon is great until it isn't. I had a box that did not arrive on time. When it did show up, the ice was melted and all of the protein was warm to the touch and not safe to eat. Getting help is a bit of a challenge. They will tell you what you want to hear and then not deliver. They listen to the complaints, sound like they really want to help, tell you they will be sending you an email and that email never arrives. When calling there is also a very good chance that the call will be disconnected. I find it hard to believe *******@marthastewart48 would attach her name to this company.

I am incredibly impressed with Marley in every way

I am incredibly impressed with Marley Spoon. I appreciate the variety of meals, the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. My favorite part is the flexibility. In a household of varying schedules it is nice to be able to change the number of servings, skip weeks and really customize our orders.

I absolutely love Marley Spoon

I absolutely love Marley Spoon. I love getting the surprise boxes. I love your notes to me. I love the food. I love the fact I do not have to shop. I love the recipes. I love seeing the chefs. I love your generosity. I am 80 yrs old and you are the treat of a lifetime. I hope I can afford to keep it going. Great job. You make the others look inadequate according what I can see in their menus and what my friends tell me. Best, JCB

I’m fairly certain this company is…

I’m fairly certain this company is completely run by AI and has no actual human employees. Its customer service is basically nonexistent. The website lists ways to contact the company, but none of them work. If you’re lucky to get a response, it’s an automatic canned excuse for why the company doesn’t have time to deal with you, and it reads like it was sent through an English translation algorithm. The only way to get any helpful response is to publicly post on Instagram. You are then asked to send a private message, but are eventually circled back to interact with bots that don’t help. I cancelled my subscription because the company lied about sending me a box and would only respond with “we’re working hard to ensure our logistics are better in the future.” No apology. No offer of a refund. Just a really shady excuse that sounds like an AI learning program. Anyway, after multiple rounds with a bot I was finally offered a credit, which is useless since I cancelled my subscription. Let’s see how many more rounds I need to go until I can get a refund.
Update: The response to my post proves my point. No actual humans work here.
Update 2: finally received a refund. Not sure which avenue worked (here or Instagram or emails), but eventually got a satisfactory response. Wish it would have been easier.

I loved them at first

I loved them at first. Food is easy to make and delicious! Lots of flavor. Where they went wrong is the nickel and dimming they do. Several times my bags had vegetables that were rotten. They would only give me a credit for the veggies that were rotten. Sadly because the veggies were rotten I was not able to make the meal. So I would have to order in. In the end I payed way more than if I just planned my own meals. Second is delivery. I understand they can’t help this but the response is something they can control. I would get a credit for one meal, yet most of the meals were ruined. I would not recommend them.

Hello Fresh was pretty good, but sometimes the produce would be marginal, which is why we canceled deliveries in the hot summer months.

Each service will vary depending on individuals preferences.
My favorite was Home Chef. Reasonably priced, good packaging/delivery, food was good and fresh, recipes good but not too complex.

Hello Fresh is similar. I dk if it's better. The prices are about the same.

They said they had 3-6 fish dishes per week. I specifically said NO shellfish. They have 1 fish item per week and 2 shellfish.
